The Legal Policy Analyst role supports the Independent Women’s Law Center and the broader policy team by tracking, analyzing, and translating legal and regulatory developments. This position serves as a key resource for drafting legal and policy content that advances the organization's mission and policy priorities. This is a full-time, paid position for Fall 2026.
What you'll do#
- Track key court cases, including monitoring oral arguments and decisions.
- Support the development and filing of amicus briefs.
- Draft regular SCOTUS Snapshot updates and related legal content.
- Track and analyze federal and state legal and regulatory developments relevant to policy priorities.
- Support the Law Center in drafting legal analyses, comment letters, and policy materials.
- Conduct research to support ongoing projects, initiatives, and legislative engagement.
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear, accessible language for blogs, memos, and backgrounders.
- Collaborate with communications teams to ensure legal concepts are accurately communicated.
What you'll need#
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong analytical and research abilities.
- A demonstrated interest in law, public policy, or regulatory issues.
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, accessible language.
- A self-directed work ethic and a willingness to take on various tasks.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work remotely without significant daily oversight.
- Willingness to travel sporadically throughout the year as needed.
- Academic background in Political Science, Public Health, Communications, or Philosophy.
