About the role#
SRF Consulting Group is hiring an intern for our Project Controls group in Minneapolis. This team provides estimating and scheduling services for infrastructure projects, including streets, utilities, highways, bridges, and transit facilities. We are looking for someone to support our project planning and construction administration efforts. This internship has the potential to lead to full-time employment after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Read and interpret civil plan sets across various design stages.
- Develop quantity take-offs using On-Screen Take-Off software.
- Learn how to build production-style estimates by calculating labor, equipment, and material resources.
- Assist in creating critical path method schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Help develop construction time determination schedules, including activity logic and durations.
- Generate schedule reports for contractor reviews.
- Assist the construction administration and survey teams, which may include occasional field work.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a 4-year degree in civil engineering, construction management, or business administration, or a 2-year civil engineering technician degree.
- Prior experience working on a survey or construction crew.
- Ability to work well within a team and independently.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to perform frequent computer work and physical tasks such as reaching and lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
