About the role#
SRF Consulting Group is hiring for a Land Survey Internship based in Minneapolis. This role focuses on field assignments, including survey staking, road construction inspection, and topographic survey work. You will work alongside our survey teams to gain hands-on experience in the field. This position is open for the summer or through the construction season ending in November. Please note that shifts may reach 10 to 11 hours, and weekend work is sometimes required.
What you'll do#
- Learn to read and interpret civil plan sets across various project design levels.
- Gain experience in generating topographic and construction surveys.
- Operate GPS and conventional survey equipment using standard technical techniques.
- Assist the survey team directly in the field on active projects.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two-year or four-year degree program for civil engineering technology, land surveying, or a related field.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid Minnesota driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for long periods in various outdoor weather conditions.
