About the role#
As a Student Optician, you will support customers in finding eyewear that provides comfort, style, and function. You will work alongside our retail and clinical teams to provide personalized advice and maintain the high quality standards of our store. This role involves working up to 24 hours per week, including weekends.
What you'll do#
- Help customers understand their visual needs and interpret optical prescriptions.
- Provide guidance on frame and lens selection.
- Use digital tools to perform dispensing measurements and conduct quality assurance checks on eyewear.
- Stay informed on frames, lenses, treatments, and current promotions to educate customers.
- Manage after-care services and resolve customer complaints.
- Support contact lens recommendations and handle third-party billing.
- Coach team members and contribute to daily operations, including inventory management and store maintenance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Opticianry post-secondary program.
- At least 2 years of previous customer service experience.
- A friendly, outgoing, and confident demeanor.
- Ability to work retail hours and stay organized in a busy environment.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Orleans, Ontario.
- The role is on-site and part-time, with a rolling term.
