About the role#
As a Student Optician, you will help customers select eyewear that fits their visual needs and personal style. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Optician to provide service that ensures comfort and function. This role involves collaborating with clinical and retail teams to maintain high standards of care.
What you'll do#
- Interpret optical prescriptions and explain visual needs to customers.
- Guide customers through frame and lens selection.
- Perform dispensing measurements using digital tools.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on finished eyewear.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, lens treatments, and store promotions.
- Manage after-care services and resolve customer complaints.
- Support contact lens recommendations.
- Handle third-party billing tasks.
- Coach team members and contribute to daily store operations, including inventory management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Opticianry post-secondary program.
- At least 2 years of customer service experience.
- A friendly, confident, and outgoing approach to customer interaction.
- Ability to stay organized and composed while working in a busy retail setting.
- Reliability and the flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

- Location: 2375 Hwy 2, Bowmanville, ON.
- Hours: Up to 24 hours per week.
- Modality: On-site.
