About the role#
This fellowship provides a broad overview of the daily work of an acquisitions editor. It is a 10-week remote, temporary program that combines editorial skill building with hands-on experience. You will work directly with the Editorial Team on live projects to gain a practical understanding of the editorial process.
What you'll do#
- Participate remotely for 15-20 hours per week, including scheduled online hours on Monday and Friday mornings.
- Spend 6 weeks exploring editorial tasks in a Sandbox environment.
- Complete 2 weeks of developmental editing mentorship.
- Dedicate 2 weeks to professional development.
What you'll need#
- Active participation in the book community.
- Demonstrable project management skills.
- Creative skills gained from employment or community engagement.
- Understanding of genre and recent competitive works.
- Familiarity with the differences between marketing and book jacket copy.
- Pursuing or holding a background in Communications, Journalism, English, Media Studies, Marketing, Business Administration, Graphic Design, or Art.

- This role is fully remote within the United States.
- The program runs from September 28, 2026, to December 11, 2026.
- This is a paid fellowship with a $1,000 stipend awarded upon successful completion.
