About the role#
Sorenson Communications is seeking a Student Content Creator Intern to support the social media team. This internship is part of a mentoring program specifically for students participating in the Center for Black Deaf Studies (CBDS) at Gallaudet University. You will contribute to content that highlights community stories, customer experiences, educational initiatives, and cultural celebrations while gaining experience in social media strategy and digital storytelling.
What you'll do#
- Edit short-form video content for social media platforms.
- Create first-cut video edits using provided footage, templates, and brand guidelines.
- Add captions, on-screen text, and accessibility features.
- Draft social media captions and supporting content.
- Organize project files and submit content for review.
- Incorporate feedback and revisions into final deliverables.
- Participate in weekly mentoring and coaching sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current student participating in the Center for Black Deaf Studies (CBDS) at Gallaudet University.
- Strong interest in social media, content creation, digital marketing, or video production.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
- Willingness to receive and apply feedback.
- Basic video editing experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar editing software is preferred.
- Experience creating content for social media platforms is preferred.
- Interest in accessibility, storytelling, and community-focused content is preferred.
Location & details#
- Term: Fall 2026 (approximately 12 weeks).
- Modality: Remote.
- Schedule: Part-time, up to 15 hours per week.
- Compensation: $24.00 per hour.
