About the role#
This is a 6-month, full-time internship focused on the intersection of ASL linguistics and technology. You will join the generation team to support the English-to-Gloss translation model and avatar signing pipeline. This position requires on-site work in Salt Lake City.
What you'll do#
- Work on glossing and annotating ASL Classifier video data.
- Design a classifier inventory to be added to the company dictionary.
- Perform high-level feature labeling and minimal pair analysis.
- Assist in designing evaluation methods, such as A/B testing, for classifier outputs.
What you'll need#
- Native ASL signing skills.
- Background in linguistics, computer science, data science, or a related field.
- Interest in sign language generation technology.
- Comfort with video annotation tools or basic data analysis.
- Familiarity with ASL classifier systems is preferred.
