About the role#
The Investigative Services Legal Technology Lab supports legal, investigative, and business functions through eDiscovery, digital forensics, data recovery, and evidence preservation. This internship offers hands-on experience maintaining the lab environment and assisting with the tools and processes used to manage data across enterprise systems.
What you'll do#
- Support the operation, maintenance, and modernization of the lab environment, including hardware, software, and infrastructure.
- Assist with digital forensics, eDiscovery, data recovery, and evidence preservation across computers, mobile devices, and cloud platforms.
- Improve team efficiency through automation, workflow enhancements, documentation, and reporting.
- Ensure lab readiness by managing asset tracking, device preparation, software configuration, and system monitoring.
- Participate in research and testing of emerging forensic, investigative, and legal technology tools.
- Provide technical support to lab users and assist with troubleshooting hardware and networking issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in digital forensics, eDiscovery, cybersecurity, or data governance.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Foundational understanding of operating systems, file systems, storage technologies, and PC hardware.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP, as well as network administration concepts like Active Directory.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Location: Culver City, California.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 8 or 14 through December 11, 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, 10 to 29 hours per week.
- Compensation: $22 per hour.
