About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Memphis, Tennessee. You will work on-site to gain practical experience in transportation construction and infrastructure delivery. You will report to the Transportation Manager and receive mentorship from licensed engineers and certified construction inspectors.
What you'll do#
- Gain real-world experience on transportation construction projects.
- Apply standard construction and inspection techniques and procedures.
- Perform assignments under the direct supervision of the Transportation Manager.
- Observe quality assurance practices and construction administration processes.
- Perform other duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year by the start of the internship.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work outdoors on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred.

- This position is paid and includes overtime pay, as well as a housing allowance for interns who do not reside near the office location.
