About the role#
We are looking for a Plumbing Design Intern to join our team in Austin. This role offers hands-on experience in plumbing systems design for projects across healthcare, education, commercial, and sports and entertainment sectors. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects that impact communities nationwide.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers in the design of plumbing systems for various facility types.
- Participate in site visits, design meetings, and internal project reviews.
- Prepare calculations, diagrams, and technical documentation using Revit.
- Conduct research to support engineering decisions and code compliance.
- Collaborate across disciplines in a team-focused environment.
- Gain familiarity with industry codes and standards including IPC, UPC, NFPA, and ASPE.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field with an interest in building systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD tools.
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Understanding of theories and methodologies relevant to the discipline.
- Clear presentation skills and strong speech clarity.
- Ability to exercise judgment and decision making with consistent follow-through.
- Professionalism and positive interpersonal collaboration in team settings.
