About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering Intern joins the Robotics New Product Development team in Pittsburgh. You will help develop next generation surgical robotics products. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 lasting 12 weeks. Please note that this position does not offer visa sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Design components or subsystems for surgical robotics.
- Execute engineering tests on prototypes.
- Conduct design reviews and create project documentation.
- Ensure all documentation meets the Robotics Quality Management System standards.
- Work with managers to complete specific internship projects.
- Present your project conclusions to senior leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or graduation within the last year in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar program.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software, specifically Solidworks.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is preferred.
- Previous internship, part-time, or apprenticeship experience is a plus.
- Strong skills in technical writing, listening, and speaking.
- Ability to analyze data, think independently, and work within a team.
- Experience with project management and leadership is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, tight deadlines, and shifting priorities.
