Fall 2026 Intern

About the role#

This internship provides college students with hands-on experience across all phases of a major market television station's day-to-day operations. Participants will support news coverage and production, gaining exposure to the broadcast and cable television industry as a supplement to their academic curriculum.

What you'll do#

• Support operations within Desk/Digital News, Sports, or Good Morning Washington.
• Assist with newscast production during varying shifts, which may include early mornings, nights, and weekends.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
• Communicate clearly and maintain productivity while working under constant deadlines.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a junior or senior in a four-year undergraduate program, or as a second-year student in a two-year community college program. First-year graduate students are also eligible.
• Declared major in journalism, meteorology, communication, or a related field.
• Ability to receive college credit for the internship, as this is an unpaid position.
• Prior internship or work experience.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
