About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the thermal processing department at Simmons Foods. You will work on real projects that address current needs at our facility while gaining a deeper understanding of our operational processes.
What you'll do#
- Complete a project that applies your academic skills to a real-world business challenge.
- Present your findings and project results to team members and senior leadership at the end of the summer.
- Perform daily tasks to learn the fundamentals of thermal processing.
- Support a continuous improvement culture by identifying ways to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the implementation of department policies and programs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or Agriculture.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and general computer skills.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours.
- Ability to work in various temperature environments.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
