About the role#
Simmons Foods offers a summer internship program for students to work on projects that impact the organization. You will gain experience through a mix of project-based work and day-to-day operations. This role involves cross-functional collaboration and focuses on understanding the fundamentals of our processes.
What you'll do#
- Develop a solution for a real-world problem that fits the needs of your department or facility.
- Present your project work to the team and senior leaders at the end of the summer.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement by finding ways to drive out waste and refine processes.
- Ensure quality performance meets all line, department, facility, and USDA/FDA guidelines.
- Participate in the development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Coordinate with team members to share best practices and attend relevant meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master’s, or Doctorate degree program in a related field, such as Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Comfort using computers and various software programs.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
- Willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions.
