About the role#
This internship at Simmons Foods offers the chance to work on projects that address real-world challenges within our facilities. You will gain experience through a mix of primary project work and daily operational tasks. The role is designed to provide a well-rounded learning experience while you contribute to our goals.
What you'll do#
- Solve actual problems that impact department or facility processes.
- Present your project findings to team members and senior leadership at the end of the summer.
- Develop a continuous improvement culture to refine processes and eliminate waste.
- Participate in the communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure best practices are followed.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
- Ability to work on your feet for several hours at a time.
- Ability to work in various temperature environments.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
