About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in local government auditing. You will work under the direction of a manager to assist with financial engagements and learn the processes behind public sector accounting.
What you'll do#
- Develop an understanding of the audit process for local government engagements.
- Analyze and test key elements of client financial statements.
- Perform testing to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Establish working relationships with client personnel.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver client service.
- Work on a variety of different accounting projects.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status at the time of the internship.
- Enrollment in an accounting, cost accounting, or auditing program at a college or university.
- Ability to work 40 hours each week during the internship.
- Interest in pursuing CPA credentials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a varied team.
- A focus on integrity, servant leadership, and problem-solving.
- Skills in building relationships and influencing others to advance objectives.
