About the role#
This is a part-time, hourly pharmacy student position located at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Leduc, Alberta. This role provides practical, real-world experience in a community pharmacy setting, designed to prepare future pharmacists for success and enhance their academic learning through hands-on training.
What you'll do#
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for pharmacy customers.
- Enhance your knowledge of OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- Learn the skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.
- Develop communication skills with patients, employees, and other healthcare workers.
- Prepare for the expanding roles of a community pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health Administration, Biology, or Nursing.
- Ability to acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy.
- Commitment to ensuring all privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent management.
- Professional presence to remain clearly identifiable to the public.
