About the role#
This position offers practical experience for pharmacy students within a community retail setting. You will work in a locally owned store while gaining exposure to the daily operations of a pharmacy. This role is designed to help you bridge your academic studies with real world practice.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers as they approach the pharmacy counter.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all privacy requirements regarding consent management.
- Ensure you are clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Learn about the expanding responsibilities of a community pharmacist.
- Develop your communication skills when interacting with patients, staff, and other health care workers.
- Build your knowledge of OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- Gain the skills needed to manage a retail pharmacy operation.
