About the role#
This position offers practical experience for future pharmacists within a community pharmacy setting. Interns will gain exposure to the daily operations of a retail pharmacy, learning about the expanding roles of community pharmacists while receiving real-world training to enhance their academic background.
What you'll do#
- Acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy.
- Ensure customer confidentiality and manage consent requirements.
- Maintain clear identification to the public while on duty.
- Assist in the delivery of health, beauty, and convenience services.
- Develop skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy environment.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, or Public Health programs.
- Knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) products and drug therapy.
- Understanding of disease state management.
- Ability to perform patient counseling.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and healthcare workers.
