Pharmacy Intern, Hourly Full Time Day

About the role#

This is a full-time, hourly Pharmacy Intern position at the Shoppers Drug Mart location in the Seton Shopping Centre. This role provides practical, real-world training in a community pharmacy setting, designed to help future pharmacists develop the skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy and understand the expanding role of the community pharmacist.

What you'll do#

• Acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy and provide an exceptional shopping experience.
• Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including customer confidentiality and consent management.
• Remain clearly identifiable to the public while assisting with health, beauty, and convenience services.
• Engage in patient counseling and collaborate with employees and other health care workers.
• Gain hands-on experience in drug therapy, disease state management, and the use of over-the-counter (OTC) products.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a relevant field of study, such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or Health Administration.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
• A foundational understanding of drug therapy and disease state management.
• Knowledge of OTC products and an interest in developing patient counseling skills.
