About the role#
This internship provides practical experience in a community pharmacy setting. You will work under a local Associate-Owner while gaining exposure to the daily operations of a retail pharmacy. This role is designed to prepare pharmacy students for their future careers by bridging the gap between academic study and real-world practice.
What you'll do#
- Greet and acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Maintain strict privacy standards, including managing customer confidentiality and consent.
- Remain clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Learn about the expanding responsibilities of a community pharmacist.
- Develop your knowledge of OTC products, disease state management, drug therapy, and patient counseling.
- Build communication skills with patients, staff, and other health care workers.
