About the role#
This is a part-time Pharmacy Intern position at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart in Oakville. You will work in a community pharmacy setting to gain practical experience and prepare for a career as a pharmacist. This role offers exposure to real-world pharmacy operations and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Greet and acknowledge every customer who approaches the pharmacy.
- Manage patient privacy, confidentiality, and consent requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance so you are clearly identifiable to the public.
- Participate in retail pharmacy training and online learning through Academy.
- Learn about the roles of a community pharmacist, including drug therapy and disease state management.
- Provide patient counseling and support for over-the-counter (OTC) products.
- Develop skills needed to manage a retail pharmacy.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- A strong commitment to customer service.
- A willingness to learn pharmacy management skills.
