About the role#
The Management and Sales Summer Internship is a paid, 10-12 week program. It offers hands-on experience in retail stores, providing insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will learn about business-to-business and retail environments, travel with a Sales Representative, and work with your management team. You will also collaborate with peers on a project addressing a real business challenge.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items to customers.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product preparation and mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Help with unloading deliveries, organizing stockrooms, and ensuring efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in required training sessions and follow store policies.
- Support team members in resolving basic customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a team-based project that addresses a business challenge.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university.
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Internal candidates must have a meets expectations rating on their most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
- A valid, unrestricted Driver’s License is preferred.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service is preferred.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting is preferred.
- Ability to communicate in more than one language, specifically Spanish, is preferred.
- Rising or current Junior or Senior status in college is preferred.
