About the role#
The Management and Sales Summer Internship is a paid, 10-12 week program designed to provide hands-on experience in retail store operations. You will gain insight into management, sales, and business-to-business customer service. The program includes structured time with management teams and the opportunity to travel with a Sales Representative to learn about outside sales. You will also collaborate with peers on a project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Ensure a welcoming environment and a positive customer experience.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items that meet customer needs.
- Contribute to sales goals through effective support.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, manage inventory, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Help with unloading deliveries and organizing stockrooms to ensure efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in required training sessions and follow store policies regarding safety, HR guidelines, and loss prevention.
- Support team members in resolving customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a team-based project and present outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a rising or current Junior or Senior in a college or university.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university during the internship.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Willingness to work all scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting.
- A valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- Ability to communicate in more than one language, with proficiency in Spanish being a plus.
- Internal candidates must have a rating of at least "meets expectations" on their most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
