About the role#
The Sherwin-Williams Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12 week summer program. It offers hands-on experience in retail stores, providing insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will gain experience in business-to-business and retail environments. The program includes traveling with a Sales Representative to learn about outside sales and working closely with your management team. You will also collaborate with peers on a project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly, professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items that meet customer needs.
- Support sales goals through effective service.
- Learn store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, manage inventory, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Unload deliveries, organize stockrooms, and ensure efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in training sessions and follow store policies regarding safety, HR guidelines, and loss prevention.
- Work with team members to resolve customer concerns and complete shared tasks.
- Collaborate on a team-based project addressing a business challenge.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a college or university.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally.
- Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- For internal candidates: a "meets expectations" rating on your most recent performance appraisal and completion of all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
- Preferred: Rising or current Junior or Senior status.
- Preferred: Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Preferred: Experience in a team-oriented setting.
- Preferred: Ability to read, write, and communicate in Spanish.
