About the role#
The Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12-week summer program. It provides hands-on experience in retail store operations, sales, and management. You will gain insight into a career in outside sales by traveling with a Sales Representative and working directly with your management team. Interns also collaborate on a team-based project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly, professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items to customers.
- Contribute to sales goals through effective support.
- Develop a strong understanding of merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves and support visual merchandising efforts.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Unload deliveries, organize stockrooms, and manage inventory flow.
- Participate in required training and follow store policies.
- Support team members in resolving customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be enrolled in a college or university, specifically a rising or current Junior or Senior.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion.
- Willingness to work scheduled hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
- If currently employed by Sherwin-Williams, you must have a meets expectations rating on your most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
