About the role#
The Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12-week summer program. It provides hands-on experience in retail stores, offering insight into sales, store operations, and management. You will work alongside your management team and travel with a Sales Representative to gain a better understanding of outside sales. Interns also collaborate on a team-based project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items to meet customer needs.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves, support inventory management, and contribute to visual merchandising.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product preparation and mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Help with unloading deliveries, organizing stockrooms, and ensuring efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in required training and follow store policies, including safety, HR guidelines, and loss prevention protocols.
- Support team members in resolving basic customer concerns and completing shared tasks.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a project that addresses a business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be enrolled in a college or university, specifically as a rising or current Junior or Senior at the start of the program.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship.
- You must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. on occasion.
- You must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends.
- You should have at least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
- You need a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- Previous experience in a team-oriented setting is required.
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish, is preferred.
- If you are an internal candidate, you must have a meets expectations rating on your most recent performance appraisal and have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
