About the role#
The Sherwin-Williams Management and Sales Internship is a paid, 10-12-week summer program. It offers hands-on experience in our retail stores, providing insight into management, sales, and store operations. You will gain exposure to business-to-business and retail environments, travel with a Sales Representative, and work with your management team. You will also complete a team-based project that addresses a real business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers in-store and over the phone.
- Maintain product displays and recommend items to help meet sales goals.
- Develop a strong understanding of store merchandise to answer customer inquiries and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Restock shelves and support visual merchandising efforts.
- Assist with point-of-sale transactions, product mixing, and general store maintenance.
- Help unload deliveries and organize stockrooms to ensure efficient inventory flow.
- Participate in required training and follow safety, HR, and loss prevention protocols.
- Collaborate with fellow interns to complete a project focused on a business challenge or store initiative.
What you'll need#
- At least eighteen years of age.
- Enrollment in a college or university at the time of the internship.
- Rising or current Junior or Senior status at the start of the program.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Willingness to work scheduled hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
- At least one year of experience in a delivery, retail, or customer service position.
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, a rating of meets expectations on your most recent performance appraisal and completion of all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
