About the role#
This full-time internship provides hands-on experience in the SERVPRO Warehouse and Production Department. You will gain a foundation in chemical blending, production operations, quality documentation, and research and development. The role includes rotational exposure to warehousing and distribution, and you will work alongside experienced professionals to understand business drivers and industry trends.
What you'll do#
- Work with the blending and production team to learn batching, mixing, filling, labeling, packaging, and finished goods transfer.
- Support production scheduling and planning, including tracking run rates, changeover time, yield, scrap, and raw material consumption.
- Assist with quality checks, batch documentation, product specifications, and SDS and label accuracy reviews.
- Support research and development for in-house chemicals and equipment, including sample preparation and test coordination.
- Analyze data and prepare reports on product costs, including bill of materials, packaging costs, landed costs, and margin modeling.
- Assist with competitive and supplier research and compile findings for leadership.
- Support the new product launch process and participate in process improvement, safety, and 5S initiatives.
- Rotate through warehousing and distribution to learn inventory management and outbound service.
- Participate in weekly intern activities, team meetings, department events, and a capstone project.
What you'll need#
- Current Junior or Senior status pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with intermediate Excel skills such as sorting, filtering, and pivot tables preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while following documented procedures.
- Proactive mindset with an interest in manufacturing, product development, quality systems, or chemical production.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior lab or production coursework is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Gallatin, Tennessee.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 24 through July 31, 2027).
- Modality: On-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours per week).
- Requirements: Ability to lift, push, or move up to 50 lbs. Must wear required personal protective equipment, including eye protection, gloves, and closed-toe footwear, in production and warehouse areas.
