About the role#
As a Land Intern at Seneca Resources, you will join our Land team for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. You will support our exploration and production activities by handling land administration, title research, and contract documentation. You will also complete a project to present at the end of your internship.
What you'll do#
- Conduct ownership reviews, market analysis, and acreage research.
- Assist with landowner correspondence and prepare materials for land negotiations.
- Support lease and contract administration through database maintenance, document organization, and electronic filing.
- Review and organize title opinions, deeds, leases, and other legal documents for due diligence.
- Track project status and title curative requirements, then create summary reports for stakeholders.
- Validate ownership and revenue-interest data within division order documentation.
- Build Excel-based tracking tools, dashboards, and workflow guides.
- Assist with the digitization of records to support asset acquisition.
- Follow company EHSQ policies and standards in all tasks.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Energy Land Management, Business Administration, Legal Studies, Environmental or Natural Resource Studies, Geography/GIS, Communications, Political Science, or a related field.
- A genuine interest in the energy industry and a desire to learn about property and mineral rights, title research, and leasing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and time-management habits to handle multiple priorities.
- Negotiation aptitude and the ability to build professional relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy.
- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Experience with oil and gas leasing, land systems, SharePoint, or data visualization is a plus.
