About the role#
Our Construction Delay team investigates why major construction projects fall behind schedule or exceed budgets. You will work alongside experts in engineering, architecture, and construction management to uncover the facts behind complex project delays. This role provides hands-on experience in high-stakes consulting, where your analysis helps clients understand the history and outcome of large-scale infrastructure and building projects.
What you'll do#
- Learn how project schedules are built, updated, and analyzed to identify the root causes of delays.
- Use scheduling tools like Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project to examine project timelines.
- Review construction drawings, progress reports, project records, and emails to piece together key facts.
- Analyze large data sets to find trends and patterns that explain project performance.
- Assist in creating expert reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
- Develop professional skills including time management, clear communication, and detailed analytical thinking.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- An expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Previous experience with construction project management, scheduling, cost controls, or relevant student projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A willingness to learn new analytical and scheduling software.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for future sponsorship.
- Ability to travel for project needs, typically under 15 percent.
