About the role#
As an intern on our Engineering Sciences team, you will apply your academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges. You will work across industries including energy, chemicals, machinery, and the built environment. You will assist experienced engineers and consultants in investigating why systems or structures fail and how they perform. This role provides hands-on experience in technical analysis and consulting.
What you'll do#
- Support client projects from the initial investigation through to final reporting.
- Break down complex technical questions, analyze data, and communicate your findings.
- Assist with field inspections, site visits, and laboratory testing.
- Compare actual site conditions against original designs, drawings, and project specifications.
- Perform engineering calculations and research technical issues.
- Review and summarize project documents, technical records, and test results.
- Help draft report sections and create visuals or exhibits for client presentations.
- Analyze technical reports prepared by other parties to help develop project perspectives.
- Participate in team communications and build relationships with colleagues and clients.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Science, Architectural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree candidates are also encouraged to apply.
- An expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2030.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas clearly.
- A curious and analytical mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
- Interest in pursuing PE credentials is a plus, as are additional language skills.
