About the role#
SCS Engineers is hiring an Engineering Intern for our office in Long Beach, California. This summer internship provides hands-on experience in technical engineering and business operations. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects involving landfill construction, storm water management, utility work, soil and groundwater remediation, and site development.
What you'll do#
- Assist project teams with construction observation and documentation.
- Collect environmental and construction material samples.
- Manage and review laboratory data.
- Perform surveying tasks.
- Prepare reports and calculations.
- Complete CAD drafting assignments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil, environmental, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
- Expected graduation date by June 2029.
- Solid technical and computer skills, with AutoCAD experience considered a plus.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- A desire to pursue a career in consulting and professional licensure.
- Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Long Beach, California.
- You will work 40 hours per week, 5 days a week in the office.
- The internship runs from May or June through August or September 2027.
- Start and end dates are flexible to fit your academic schedule.
- You must be willing to live in the Long Beach area for the duration of the internship, as housing is not provided.
