About the role#
Schnabel Engineering is seeking a full-time Civil Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position runs from May through August. You will work under the supervision of senior engineering personnel to apply professional principles to real-world projects. This role involves a mix of office duties and field work.
What you'll do#
- Perform geotechnical field work, including subsurface exploration and infiltration testing.
- Conduct construction observation and materials testing at job sites.
- Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS software.
- Support engineering staff in the preparation of geotechnical proposals and reports.
- Perform laboratory testing as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Civil Engineering.
- A valid U.S. driver’s license, as driving is required for this role.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
