About the role#
Schnabel Engineering is hiring a full-time Civil Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This role runs from May through August. You will work under the supervision of senior engineering personnel to gain practical experience and apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform geotechnical field work, including observing subsurface exploration and conducting infiltration testing.
- Conduct construction observation and materials testing at various job sites.
- Perform laboratory testing.
- Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS software.
- Support engineers in the preparation of geotechnical proposals and reports.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s program in Civil Engineering.
- Good oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- A valid U.S. driver’s license, as driving is an essential part of the job.
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
