About the role#
This co-op position offers practical experience within the Engine or Chassis departments. You will work on an engineering project aligned with current research and development initiatives. You will work alongside the engineering team every day to contribute to technical projects and gain exposure to manufacturing and technology development processes.
What you'll do#
- Support design tasks including calculation, simulation, CAD modeling, analysis, and component sizing.
- Perform component or system level mechanical testing.
- Conduct component teardown analysis, which includes physical teardown, inspection photography, and documentation.
- Communicate and interface with cross functional teams to complete assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA per semester.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, driven to achieve results, and an assertive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and lift or move thirty pounds.
- Preference given to candidates with experience in 3D CAD modeling, SAE collegiate competition teams, or mechanical hobbies.
