About the role#
As a Student/Casual Food Store Clerk, you will work at the Gravelbourg Food Store. You will help customers, manage transactions, and maintain the store environment. This role involves a variety of tasks across different departments, including grocery, meat, and bakery.
What you'll do#
- Provide helpful customer service and answer product questions.
- Operate the Point of Sale system and package purchases for customers.
- Stock shelves and maintain store cleanliness by facing products.
- Prepare meat products, including traying, wrapping, and pricing items.
- Keep fresh, frozen, and smoked cases fully stocked.
- Help prepare in-store products like sausage, hamburger, and bakery items.
- Receive, count, and sort incoming merchandise.
- Operate store equipment safely and follow all sanitation and maintenance policies.
What you'll need#
- Experience in the procurement of merchandise.
- A positive, outgoing, and energetic personality.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to solve problems as they arise.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, climbing, and kneeling.
- A willingness to complete training and learn new skills.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
