About the role#
Sargento is looking for a Safety Intern to join our team in Plymouth, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, paid, rolling internship. You will gain hands-on experience in a food manufacturing environment by applying health, safety, and security principles. You will work on projects that help reduce workplace hazards and improve safety programs.
What you'll do#
- Lead and participate in Incident Root Cause Analysis events.
- Analyze trends regarding near-misses, incidents, and good catch events.
- Help develop Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
- Assist with site audits, security tasks, and Food Defense audits.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests for new equipment to assess potential hazards.
What you'll need#
- You must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, industrial engineering, public health, security and risk, or a related field.
- You must have completed your junior year before the internship starts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- A valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and a personal vehicle are required for this role.
