About the role#
The College Counseling Intern supports the daily operations of the College Counseling Department at San Francisco University High School. This is a part-time, temporary position requiring one day of in-person work on campus each week. The role runs through the end of the fall semester, concluding the week of December 14, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Proofread letters of recommendation written by teachers and counselors.
- Greet and assist college admissions representatives during their campus visits.
- Review student writing and provide constructive feedback.
- Support students during afternoon study hall sessions.
- Provide structure and guidance to specific students as directed.
- Assist with the administration of the PSAT on Wednesday, October 14.
- Help with additional administrative tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor of Arts or Science degree.
- A commitment to working with youth and a genuine interest in education.
- A growth mindset and a willingness to learn.
- Strong writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to provide honest, positive, and constructive feedback.
- Proficiency with Google Suite and Zoom. Experience with Canvas or MaiaLearning is a plus.
- The ability to manage multiple projects at once and follow through on assigned tasks.
Location & details#
- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Schedule: 8 hours per week through December 18, 2026.
- Employment is contingent upon a clear Live Scan and DOJ report.
