About the role#
As an Electrical Co-op, you will work alongside Engineers and Lead Designers to support project tasks. You will gain experience in drafting, design documentation, and field inspections while learning to follow CAD standards. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects at once and communicate clearly with your team.
What you'll do#
- Collect information during field inspections and produce or interpret sketches.
- Convert design sketches into AutoCAD or Revit formats.
- Create and manage motor, electrical, and device lists.
- Prepare single and three-line diagrams, panel schedules, and power plans.
- Develop electrical schematics and conduit or cable schedules.
- Perform calculations for cables, conduits, cable trays, electrical loads, transformers, and starters.
- Handle lighting calculations and fixture selection.
- Assemble drawing and deliverable packages.
- Coordinate project details with engineers and other discipline leads.
- Read P&IDs and ensure work meets company and client CAD standards.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of an associate or bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- A valid driver license.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Duluth, Georgia.
- Work is on-site in an office setting with occasional local client site visits.
- This is a full-time, paid role with a rolling term.
- Hours typically average 32 per week, with the possibility of up to 40 hours based on business needs.
- You may occasionally work on construction sites, which can involve exposure to noise, moving equipment, or outdoor weather conditions.
