About the role#
S&B USA Construction & Fay is offering a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027. This role focuses on the scheduling and planning side of heavy civil infrastructure projects like bridges, highways, and tunnels. You will gain hands-on experience with the construction process and contribute to active projects and bid pursuits.
What you'll do#
- Learn about Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling and the Longest Path to complete a project.
- Develop a basic schedule with a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for a 3-span bridge.
- Visit job sites to observe in-progress construction work, including crews, equipment, and methods.
- Assist with the development of Baseline Schedules for newly awarded contracts.
- Prepare PDF schedule reports and support monthly schedule narrative reports.
- Coordinate with estimating and operations teams to determine schedule assumptions and project requirements.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year in a Civil Engineering, General Engineering, or Construction Management degree program.
- Excellent computer and communication skills.
- Familiarity with heavy civil engineering and construction terminology.
- Ability to work on-site.
