About the role#
This internship offers exposure to heavy civil infrastructure projects including bridges, tunnels, and highways. You will work on-site to gain practical experience in the construction process. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist with material orders for permanent and temporary suppliers.
- Coordinate between our team and subcontractors.
- Attend safety, operations, and project look-ahead meetings.
- Observe our self-performing construction activities.
- Perform quantity takeoffs from plan sets for upcoming work and materials.
- Review cost reports and man-hour data.
- Shadow surveyors and material testing teams.
- Assist in creating work plan packages using software like BlueBeam and AutoCAD.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year in a Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Strong computer skills.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, plans, and cross sections.
