About the role#
Ryan is hiring an intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Austin, Texas. You will work alongside subject matter experts to identify tax savings opportunities for multi-state companies.
What you'll do#
- Provide client service to identify tax savings opportunities.
- Assist with state and local tax controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions.
- Represent clients at hearings and appeal meetings.
- Prepare protests and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Research and draft technical memoranda regarding tax issues.
- Review documentation and perform detailed calculations using raw data.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Economics.
- Anticipated graduation date within one year of the internship.
- Minimum overall and major GPA of 2.8.
- Completion of 6 to 12 accounting hours, depending on the specific practice.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong research skills and the ability to navigate the internet effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and in a team.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail skills.
- A valid driver's license.
