About the role#
The Entrepreneurial Services Group at RubinBrown LLP partners with business owners to help them improve and grow. Interns in this group work with a broad range of clients, gaining exposure to various business, accounting, and tax issues common to emerging entrepreneurial enterprises.
What you'll do#
- Apply general accounting procedures to various client engagements.
- Plan and execute day-to-day activities for small business clients in accordance with firm standards.
- Review client documentation to prepare financial statements and tax returns.
- Perform attest procedures, including reviews and compilations of financial statements.
- Maintain client records and general ledgers on automated systems.
- Assist with income tax planning and the preparation of tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
- Prepare payroll tax reports, filings, 1099s, and W-2 forms.
- Establish direct working relationships and communication with clients.
- Identify and communicate accounting and tax matters to engagement team members.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Progress toward CPA certification.
- Strong technical skills and a commitment to learning in a technology-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize analytical and research skills to meet client requirements.
- Strong team orientation and leadership potential.
