About the role#
This internship introduces students to public accounting within the Entrepreneurial Services Group. You will work with business owners to help them improve and grow their operations. The role focuses on applying accounting procedures and tax knowledge to support small business clients.
What you'll do#
- Apply general accounting procedures to client engagements.
- Plan and execute day-to-day activities for small business projects.
- Maintain client records, including general ledgers, on automated systems.
- Assist with income tax planning and the preparation of tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Prepare payroll tax reports, 1099s, and W-2 forms.
- Perform attest procedures such as financial statement reviews and compilations.
- Communicate directly with clients and build professional working relationships.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Working toward CPA certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong technical skills and a commitment to learning new technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
