About the role#
The Entrepreneurial Services Group intern role provides an introduction to the field of public accounting. Interns partner with business owners to help improve and grow their operations while gaining experience in business, accounting, and tax issues.
What you'll do#
- Apply general accounting procedures to a range of client services.
- Plan and execute the day-to-day activities of small business engagements.
- Maintain client records and files, including general ledger management on automated systems.
- Assist with income tax planning and the preparation of income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- Perform attest procedures, such as reviews and compilations of financial statements.
- Prepare payroll tax reports, filings, 1099 forms, and W-2 forms.
- Establish direct working relationships and communication with clients.
- Identify and communicate accounting and tax matters to engagement team members.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Progress toward CPA certification.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to utilize technology effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
