About the role#
The Entrepreneurial Services Group at RubinBrown LLP partners with business owners to help improve and grow their operations. This group serves a diverse client base by applying a broad knowledge of business, accounting, and tax issues. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2028 term.
What you'll do#
- Apply general accounting procedures across a range of client services.
- Plan and execute day-to-day activities for small business engagements according to firm standards.
- Review client documentation to prepare financial statements and tax returns.
- Maintain client records, including general ledgers, on automated systems.
- Perform attest procedures such as reviews and compilations of financial statements.
- Assist with income tax planning and the preparation of tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- Prepare payroll tax reports, filings, 1099s, and W-2 forms.
- Communicate accounting and tax matters to engagement team members and maintain direct relationships with clients.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Progress toward CPA certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong technical skills and a commitment to learning in a technology-driven environment.
- Ability to contribute to the success of a strategic business unit.
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
- A team-oriented mindset and the ability to meet challenging client requirements.
