About the role#
This internship introduces you to public accounting through hands-on work. You will join the team as a full-time member for at least eight weeks. Each intern is paired with a Career Advocate to help set and reach professional goals. You will receive an orientation covering administrative and professional topics, plus training on our accounting and tax software networks.
What you'll do#
- Perform audit testing and procedures on key engagement areas.
- Communicate directly with clients and staff members.
- Complete client work both in the office and at client locations.
- Analyze internal controls and gain insight into the audit risk assessment process.
- Research industries and comparable companies using public documents.
- Write reports on company backgrounds, financial reviews, and economic outlooks.
- Create and maintain workpaper documentation for client engagements.
- Maintain a full-time schedule.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status in an Accounting program.
- Completion of introductory accounting courses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prior completion of an Auditing or Tax class is preferred.
