About the role#
As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will support the Finance Department by working on financial analyses, projects, and reports. You will gain experience in strategic planning and contribute to the organization's financial operations. This is a paid, limited term position running from January 2027 through May 2028.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses.
- Support the development of budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans.
- Reconcile departmental budgets and investigate variances to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct benchmarking and comparative analysis using macroeconomic and peer data.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and complete ad-hoc financial projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- Completed or current coursework in Finance and Accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be bondable and demonstrate an understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Knowledge of financial products and services is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is located at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
- You must be able to work on-site throughout the internship.
- The schedule includes approximately 15 to 20 hours per week during the school year and 30 to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Hours are generally between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, based on your class schedule.
- New team members must attend Foundation Training at the Corporate Center from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm on the Monday and Tuesday of their first week.
