About the role#
The Automotive Laboratory Technician Co-op supports engineering testing for the research, development, and certification of vehicles, sub-systems, components, and materials. This role involves working with specialized equipment, control software, and data acquisition systems to ensure operational efficiency and high-quality data collection.
What you'll do#
- Assist with vehicle setup on test rigs for suspension development, BSR, and NVH testing.
- Execute test procedures by operating rigs and control software to collect performance data.
- Perform preliminary data analysis and quality checks to ensure data integrity before delivery to engineering teams.
- Support the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of test rigs, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Maintain accurate records of test setups, test runs, maintenance, calibrations, and part changes.
- Work with engineers to achieve experimental conditions and support test planning.
- Assist with diagnosis and issue resolution for test rigs, software, and data acquisition systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an associate or bachelor’s degree program in mechanical, automotive, aerospace, electrical, civil, or industrial engineering.
- Availability for 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, from August to December 2026.
- Basic knowledge of automotive powertrain systems, fuel systems, components, or material properties.
- Strong computer skills and the flexibility to learn new technical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
